About the Event
Be a part of making trail history! We need approximately 12 volunteers to help with a crucial effort to clear the opening miles of the El Dorado Trail as it parallels Payen Road on the outskirts of Folsom. This workday is focused on clearing significant weed overgrowth from the existing rough trail tread. This work is essential to expose critical junctions and crossings of drainage creeks, paving the way for near-future culvert installations. Your efforts will directly contribute to the completion of 30 continuous miles of trail running between Placerville and Folsom, following the historic Southern Pacific Placerville branch rail tracks.
Tasks May Include:
Heavy string trimming using battery and gas-powered tools.
Shoveling dirt onto pre-placed culvert sections (limited).
Trail tread buffing and sweeping (limited).
