Hard

Experienced riders looking for a trail to expand their technical ability.

Clementine Loop

This loop combines multiple trails in the Auburn State Recreation Area. In order of the loop, the trails are: Clementine, Connector, the Foresthill Divide Loop, back on Connector, down Stonewall and finally, down Confluence trail.

Manzanita

The Manzanita trail is a true gem!  It is to be ridden in the downhill direction, and consists of tight single track, technical rocky sections with drops and a few short, but steep uphills to keep you paying attention.  The trail has excellent flow and beautiful views of the Confluence as you get closer to its end, which intersects at the Stagecoach trail.

Confluence

The Confluence trail is a downhill trail, with tight single track, jumps and rocks to ride.  The trail rides high above the American River from the OHV park down to the Confluence.  If you're afraid of heights, this trail may not be for you - there is some exposure along the trail with a drop off to your left side!  This trail is most commonly accessed from the Connector parking area on Clementine Rd.  Riders will either ride to it from the Culvert or Stonewall trail, and many do it as a dedicated shuttle ride.

Culvert

The Culvert trail starts just above the Connector trail head off of Clementine Rd.  You access Culvert by heading up the trail called Fuel Break, which is a fairly easy half mile climb, followed by a quarter mile of downhill.  At this point, you turn to the left and head downward!  The Culvert trail is all downhill and littered with jumps and technical features.  The trail gets its name from the Culvert it uses to go under Foresthill Rd.  This trail is fast and fun!

Hole-In-The-Ground

Top of Hole in the GroundThis challenging trail offers a little of everything. It has a strenuous climb to start the ride, incredible views from Andesite peak, a few great descents, granite to play on and beautiful single track. Start this ride from the fire station off of the Soda Springs exit (on Sherrit Ln. This is the end of the trail). Follow Donner Summit Rd.
