Thanks for hanging in there with FATRAC this summer as we transitioned from "club-hood" to "chapter-hood." Yep, it's official, FATRAC is now an IMBA Chapter. Now when you go to join or renew, you're automatically a member of both. At $30 (individual) or $50 (family) that's a bargain. The resources that IMBA brings to our Chapter are good. FATRAC is proud to be among the many new chapters forming across the country.
Thanks for checking out our Facebook page and Meetup for the latest and greatest news. Lots of great pics from our annual Tahoe area Campout, Trailwork & Rides! Area trails, especially the new trails at Hidden Falls Regional Park are incredibly dusty. Many of you have been heading to Tahoe or the Coast. We hope your summer has been great.
Fellow California Mountain Bikers, please go to the Advocacy page for details on the newly introduced State Wilderness legislation. As you know, mountain biking is prohibited in designated wilderness. IMBA California is carefully tracking this bill. For further details, check our Advocacy page. For an easy way to send in your comments, go to www.imba.com and click on the link under "Take Action." Takes seconds and your voice will be heard. Questions? Contact Jim Haagen-Smit, FATRAC Advocacy Coordinator. Thanks!!!
There is a new bill to propose new California State Wilderness including Henry Coe State Park. Please write your CA Assembly members, CA Senators and the sponsors of the legislation to modify the bill to either permit bikes in California Wilderness, or not designate these areas as Wilderness.
