Be Careful Out There...

This article specifically mentions two of our most commonly used trails:

Rain Rules!

I am really glad the rains have finally started!  I have anticipated this rain more than any other time I can remember. We need the snowpack at the high altitudes, and my yard is looking very dry!  The bad news is that we have to cancel our monthly club ride for tomorrow. We do not want to damage the trails that we put so much time and effort into maintaining. Riding in the rain is not necessarily bad, but any time you are leaving an imprint deeper than an inch, you are creating unnecessary damage to the trailbed. If you cut into the subsurface, erosion has a foothold that cannot be stopped without countless hours of human intervention. Protect the trails by riding responsibly. Tomorrow, stay home, stay dry and come out next month on the third Saturday.

Rockville/Lagoon Valley Recap

On Sunday, Nov 13th, four FATRAC members travelled to the Fairfield/Vacaville area to sample some out of town singletrack. It was another great example of the awesome riding conditions in NorCal in the Fall. Even after the rains the week prior, including a sprinkle Friday night, these trails were in great condition.

REI Grant $10,000 to Improve ASRA Trails

Erin Harrington from REI awarded FATRAC member Steve Minnear with a check for $10,000 to improve the Culvert and Confluence trails. Steve worked closely with Auburn SRA ranger Jon Brandt to ensure that the improvements are sustainable. A number of riders have volunteered countless hours to make this happen.  If you are interested in joining this effort, email me and I will get you in touch with Steve.

Mad Cat's Try the Divide

Over thirty riders showed up for our monthly club ride today. Mad Cat provided a mechanic and caffine to be sure we had a good time on the trail. We had hot food and cold drinks afterwards. Join us next week for our trailwork on Sweetwater trail and next month for our club ride.

Wine Ride

It may not have been on singletrack trails, but the Wine Ride Campout last weekend was a lot of fun! The six of us camped at Lake Sonoma and then rode down the valley, sampling fine wines and enjoying a beautiful day. Big thanks go to Patrick McDaniel for making this annual event happen. Next time you see him, let him know that you want to go on the next one.

Great Story!

THANK YOU current and previous FATRAC members who worked so hard with CA State Parks to make this trail happen!

ABW Try the Divide

We had over 40 riders show up for this month's Try the Divide. Auburn Bike Works provided caffine and carbs to get us started and Franke had hot chili and cold drinks at the finish. The weather was perfect and the trail is in great condition. Join us next month for our club ride on Oct. 15 and our next trailwork on Sweetwater Trail on Oct. 22.

Mad Cat's Try the Divide

Mad Cat's Try the Divide brought out over 20 riders for a picture perfect day. Stop by and thank Mike for sending TJ out to support this wonderful ride. Come out every third Saturday for our monthly club ride.
