Cool Race 2008

[img_assist|nid=375|title=Clean Before the Race|desc=|link=node|align=left|width=200|height=150]On Sunday, March 9, 2008 over 400 riders assembled at the Olmstead Loop for the annual Cool Mountain Bike Race. Part of the proceeds from the race goes to FATRAC to maintain the local trails. The enthusiastic crowd of family and friends encouraged the riders around their chosen number of laps. Some riders chose as many as three 9 mile laps around the course. The trail was in perfect condition: dry enough to have good tractions without too much dust. There was just enough mud to coat everyone's legs by the time they crossed the finish line. A number of FATRAC members entered and finished the race as well as a whole crew who volunteered to help make the race a success. Thank you to everyone involved, especially Sean and Mary Allen who spearhead this effort. Be sure to put this on your calendar for next year.
