Six FATRAC members enjoyed a cool Saturday ride this weekend south of Tahoe. We started in Hope Valley and rode to Round lake and then Dardanelles Lake. The clouds were threatening and the winds were blowing, but it ended up being a wonderful day. Bert even got to ride with mountain bike legend, Tinker Juarez who was in Kirkwood for an eight hour race. We went out the next morning to cheer on the 24 hour racers who were just finishing. Keep you eyes on the calendar for future opportunities in the Kirkwood area. It was well worth the drive.
On Saturday, Mad Cat Bikes sponsored our monthly club ride. It was hard to get up early to get out to FDLT, but we were rewarded later in the morning by cool climbs up the exposed fire roads. Cold drinks at the end of the ride were also a welcome relief. Everyone had a great ride and we all went for burritos on the way out of the canyon. Stop by Mad Cat and say thank you to Mike for sending TJ to help us. Join us next month.
Twenty lucky FATRAC members were able to experience the best mountain bike trails that California has to offer during a multi-day camp out. We were able to ride trails that pushed us to our limits and well as awed us with their beauty. We were able to build new singletrack on the Tahoe Rim Trail
